CHAPTER ONE
INTERMEDIATE FLIGHT PREPARATION WORKBOOK
Landing Roll and the After Landing Checklist
On touchdown, you are required to call "boards and speed" (e.g., 6 board, 100 knots), until the P
initiates braking action. The P will apply braking at roughly 90 knots. Monitor tower frequency
until clear of the active runway(s) and clear the aircraft from 9 to 4 o'clock. When clear of all
active runways and directed by Tower, call, "Ground, retract flaps," and initiate the After
Landing Checklist.
Engine Shutdown Checklists
After the brake check has been completed, perform the checklist as prescribed. Exit the aircraft,
do a walkaround inspection, and return to the Ready Room for debrief.
