The Holding Brief is given upon receipt of a holding clearance.

FIX (define the holding fix by name (if any), TACAN name, radial and DME):

"THE HOLDING FIX IS "MARYS" ON THE NAVY PENSACOLA TACAN ONE
EIGHT ZERO RADIAL AT ONE ONE DME..."
ENTRY (the type of holding entry):
E.
"WE WILL USE AN OUTBOUND PARALLEL ENTRY, CROSSING THE FIX TURN
RIGHT HEADING ONE EIGHT ZERO."
TURNS (the direction of pattern turns):
T.
"THE PATTERN WILL HAVE LEFT TURNS..."
LEGS (the length of the pattern legs):
L.
"10 TEN MILE LEGS."

APPROACH BRIEF (MNEMONIC: "TICARM").
The Approach Brief will be given upon learning which approach is to be flown. If holding is
assigned, the brief is not given until after entering holding.
TITLE (title of the briefing, the title of the approach read from the margin of the

approach chart and the page number of the approach chart):
"APPROACH BRIEF, GULFPORT-BILOXI HI-TACAN RWY 32 APPROACH, PAGE
59 ..."
INITIAL (define the Initial Approach fix if applicable, by TACAN name and channel,

radial and DME, and the published or assigned IAF altitude):
"THE INITIAL APPROACH FIX IS "HACHA", THE GULFPORT TACAN ONE
NINER THREE RADIAL AT ONE EIGHT DME. OUR ASSIGNED ALTITUDE IS
ONE SIX THOUSAND ..."
COURSE (the initial approach course: radial or arc):
