Overview
BFM-1 is designed to introduce the student to the T-2C aircraft performance envelope and basic
principles and procedures for offensive maneuvering.
BFM-1 Flight Conduct
Standard section procedures will be flown to the assigned working area. Once established in the
working area, the lead IP will "push" the wingman out to combat spread with the appropriate
hand signal. From the combat spread formation, the section will conduct:
1.
Engaging Turns (2 sets demonstrated by the IPs).
2.
Snapshot Drill.
3. After the set of engaging turns, the working area will be divided and each aircraft will
individually conduct:
a.
Performance Characteristics Exercise.
b.
Stalls and Departures.
c.
Deep stall investigation.
d.
Break turn stall.
e.
Steep turn stall.
