SNFO/SWSO VOICE COMMUNICATIONS
SNFO/SWSO:
"KATT 820, leaving 4000 for 3500. Direct NPA.
Direct SYDNY. Hold as published. Expected
further clearance at time 1620."
NOTES
1.
Request expected further clearance time if not automatically
provided by ATC. This time will be used to depart the holding
pattern and proceed enroute (or commence the approach if holding
at destination) in the event of communications failure.
2. Do not hold for an approach you cannot legally execute. If
current weather at destination is less than published weather
minimums for any suitable approach, request clearance to
alternate.
1.
Once established in holding, give your voice report to ATC using the PTA format.
Example
SNFO/SWSO:
"Atlanta Center, KATT 820, established in
holding at Monroeville, 1557Z, 7000."
2.
If departing holding and continuing on your flight plan route, just report leaving holding.
Example
SNFO/SWSO:
"Jacksonville Center, KATT 820, departing
holding."
3. If leaving holding at an IAF and commencing an approach, report commencing the
approach and leaving an altitude (if applicable).
Example
SNFO/SWSO:
"Pensacola Approach, KATT 820, commencing
the VOR 8, leaving 2000."
