SNFO/SWSO VOICE COMMUNICATIONS
CHAPTER THREE
Figure 3-6 Part of Low Enroute Chart
308. FREQUENCY SWITCHES
After calling Tower for takeoff clearance, the controllers will instruct when to switch to the next
frequency. Never switch a frequency unless instructed to by a controller. Switching frequencies
need not be anticipated.
Example
CENTER:
"KATT 814, contact Memphis Center on 284.7."
SNFO/SWSO:
"KATT 814, switching 284.7."
SNFO/SWSO:
(after switching):"Memphis Center, KATT 814,
9000."
CENTER:
"KATT 814, Memphis Center, roger."
If in a climb or descent during the frequency switch, the agency will use the check-in altitude to
verify Mode C altitude. The term "passing" is appropriate.
Example
SNFO/SWSO:
"Houston Center, KATT 814, passing 6300 for
9000."
CENTER:
"KATT 814, Memphis Center, roger."
