HOLDING
700. INTRODUCTION
This chapter provides a basic introduction to Holding covering Air Traffic Control holding
clearances, holding concepts, and basic holding pattern orientation relative to holding fixes and
approach patterns. Specific flight procedures are covered in the RI Flight Procedures lecture
following this course.

TACAN holding patterns.

State holding pattern timing according to flight altitude.

At or below 14,000 feet MSL.
7.2.2
Above 14,000 feet MSL.

State maximum holding pattern airspeeds.
