Establish positive rate of climb: verify on
altimeter and VSI display
COMMON ERROR: Being slow to set up a
good instrument scan.
COMMON ERROR: Fixating directly in
front of aircraft instead of scanning the
entire runway.
COMMON ERROR: Fixating on one
instrument.
COMMON ERROR: Omitting a critical
instrument in the scan.
COMMON ERROR: Overrotating or
overcontrolling nose attitude.
