Night Formation Flight Procedures
MOTIVATION
Operational requirements for a tactical naval aviator demand proficiency in both
shore- and carrier-based night flying including night rendezvous, section approaches
and other formation operations. In order to survive in this environment, you must
know night-specific procedures learned in primary flight training and Night Familiari-
zation. In addition, this lesson will help you recognize certain light patterns and night-
specific signals which will ensure that your night formation flights are safe and profes-
sional.
