Night Formation Flight Procedures
B.
CV rendezvous 3.7.1.1.7.1
1.
Procedures: same as day procedures except
a.
Wingman
NOTE: For all night circling rendezvous, pulling too
much lead or aligning fuselages too early may cause the
aircraft to go acute. Therefore, place lead's lights in the
windscreen just in front of the canopy bow. Maintain the
lead in this position until you can distinguish individual
position lights on the lead.
(1) Conduct co-airspeed rendezvous, using turn radius
instead of airspeed to achieve closure
(2) Continually monitor airspeed and altitude until you
can discern relative motion
b.
When moving out to the bearing line and the fuselages
are approximately aligned, look for lead's lights in the
windscreen just in front of the canopy bow.
