Turns away from echelon 3.7.1.2.1.1.1
a.
Lead
(1) Give turn-away signal
(2) Execute 30-degree AOB turn away from echelon
b.
Dash-2, Dash-3, Dash-4
(1) Keep lead on horizon during turn; rotate about your own
longitudinal axis
(2) Make power adjustments as required to maintain position
(larger at increasing distances away from lead due to
greater radius of turn)
3.
Turns into echelon
a.
Not normally executed
b.
Any turns into echelon must be shallow (no more than
10 degrees AOB)
