Running rendezvous (balanced formation) procedure
a.
Lead: climb at constant airspeed and power setting as briefed
and dictated by local operating rules
b.
Wingmen: normally join in balanced parade (fingertip)
formation
4.
Common errors by Dash-2, Dash-3 or Dash-4 for division join-up
a.
Problem: closing too rapidly on aircraft ahead
Correction: use any one of the following as appropriate
(1) Adjust closure rate to maintain safe distance
(2) Underrun
NOTE: Division underrun procedures follow.
b.
Problem: preceding aircraft slow to rendezvous, hindering
subsequent aircraft
Prevention: stagnate on and maintain bearing line until you
can proceed with your join-up
