The Five Cs
a.
Perform the five Cs
(1) Confess (state your emergency)
(2) Climb
(3) Conserve (max endurance until oriented,
then max range)
(4) Communicate (Guard or best frequency,
and IFF Mode 3/A, code 7700)
(5) Conform
b.
Perform local area/ship procedures
(1) Admit you are lost
(2) Climb to optimum altitude for fuel/
(3) Climb toward coastline
