(3) Required during engine start be-
cause engine-driven fuel pumps
only marginally capable of provid-
ing suction while at low speed
(4) The boost pumps are each driven
by an ac motor with power sup-
plied from the 28 VDC essential
bus to a dedicated inverter. The
dedicated inverters and boost
pumps will automatically turn on:
(a)
during start when the GTS
Start button is pressed and
will remain on for 30 seconds
after GTS shutdown, unless
GEN comes on line
(b) when the engine speed is
greater than 42%, the
generator is on and the
Engine switches are set to ON
(5) A time delay relay keeps the fuel
boost pumps operating for 30
seconds after loss of any of the
NOTE: On engine start, electric fuel boost
pump(s) are brought on line when GTS
start button is pressed.
NOTE: Boost pumps run for 30 seconds
after GTS shutdown on airstarts with failed
generator or generator off line.
NOTE: Turning either cockpit ENGINE
switch to OFF secures the number 2 boost
pump, causing FUEL PRESS caution light
to illuminate 30 seconds later. Do not rush
shut down checklist by turning off ENGINE
switch while taxiing to chocks.
