Hydraulic Subsystems
(1) The BRAKE PRESS caution light
is located on the CWP lights
panel on the main instrument
panel
(2) The light illuminates during carrier
operations when the aircraft is on
the catapult, in tension. The
engine throttle position is 95 %
RPM or above and there is a
failure in the brake pressure
release system allowing brake
pressure to remain available

Brake pressure indicator lights
(aircraft 163599 thru 163646 only)
(1) Location: center instrument
panel, both cockpits
(2) Purpose:
(a) Signals brake pressure
between brake control valve
and anti-skid valve
(b) Illuminates when respective
brake lines exceed 180 +/-
20 psi, light out at 150 psi
NOTE: Not part of the Brake
Pressure Release systems
during catapalt launch
(AFC-256).
LECTURE NOTES
It is important that these lights are checked to verify
that they are not illuminated prior to landing. These
lights are not in the simulator.
