CNATRAINST 1542.135B

(6) On multiplane flights, items completed, but unobserved, shall
not be graded by the flight leader.
(7) CQ ATFs shall be completed for all flight events as
follows: FCLP-05X, FCLP-06 through FCLP-13X (1 ATF), CQ-04
through CQ-16X (1 ATF), and CQ-17X (1 ATF).
(8) All solo flights that are shotgunned will be graded
by the flight lead and shall be annotated "SHOTGUNNED" on the
student's ATF. Shotgun instructors (weather safety pilots) will
not grade students. They will provide inputs on safety of flight
items in accordance with CNATRAINST 1500.4F.
(9) Warmup ATFs do not have to be marked with an
unsatisfactory grade to justify an additional warmup if the
overall performance is not up to standard. Warmup grades are not
included in the cumulative totals, and unsatisfactory grades do
not constitute a "down" unless:
(a) The student demonstrates a flagrant safety or
flight rule violation or a dangerous tendency.
(b) The student is not safe for solo and the next
normally scheduled event is a solo flight.
b. Warmup Criteria. Warmup flights may be given as
necessary to regain flight proficiency after prolonged delays in
training. The following specific guidelines govern warmup
flights:
(1) One warmup event may be awarded (IAW paragraph b (2)
below) when there has been a delay of six calendar days since the
last event. Reference. CNATRAINST 1500.4F for delays greater
than or equal to 14 days (mandatory warmup). During CQ, a warmup
FCLP shall be conducted prior to CQ periods if 72 hours have
elapsed since the last FCLP period. CQ FCLP warmup may be solo
as determined by the LSO.
(2) If the next regularly scheduled curriculum event is a
dual flight, then the event is briefed and flown as that flight.
If the student's proficiency after the delay in training is
consistent with his normal progress and warrants continuation in
the module of instruction, the flight shall be considered and
graded as a normal curriculum flight (complete). If the student
does not show normal progress, the flight shall be considered a
warmup of the last flight event completed. If the next regularly
scheduled curriculum event is solo, the student shall be awarded
a warmup of the last completed dual event.
