CURRICULUM GUIDELINES

Sequencing.
a. General. The T-45A Strike Flight Designated Naval
Aviator Jet Refresher/NATOPS (JREF/NATOPS) Training Curriculum
is comprised of the NATOPS training stage which integrates
academic instruction, flight support lessons, simulator and
aircraft instruction.
b. Guidelines. The JREF/NATOPS Course Map follows the
Instructor Under Training (IUT) curriculum through a NATOPS
evaluation flight. It incorporates sequencing alternatives, as
well as hard prerequisites. Additional training will be provided
as required by the individual Jet Refresher (JREF/NATOPS)
Trainee.
2. Briefing and Debriefing.
Adequate briefing time shall be
provided and utilized.
a. Briefing. All briefs will be in accordance with the
appropriate NATOPS flight manual and briefing guide.
For multi-plane events, all flight members (i.e., instructors,
observers, students, passengers, etc.) shall be briefed by the
flight leader in the briefing area. Although JREF's may be
briefed early on techniques by their individual flight
instructors, all members of the flight will be in attendance for
the final "conduct of flight" portion of the brief.
b. Debriefing. Timely debriefing of each simulator and
flight event is an essential part of the learning process. The
debriefer shall debrief in accordance with established
convention. The minimum items that shall be covered in the
debrief are:
(1) Overall review of the event plan in chronological
order, citing completion, omissions and deletions of
prerequisite exercises,
(2) Attainment/non-attainment of aircraft control and
mission performance standards,
