CNATRAINST 1542.157
16 January.2004
6.  Break in Training Warmup Sorties (SXX86).  Nonsyllabus
warmup sorties compensate for breaks in training.  Eligibility
is based on the number of days since the last flight or
simulator in the same stage.  All warmups shall be coded as an
SXX86, e.g., C4186.  Warmup grades do not satisfy block or MIF
requirements and shall not be included in the cumulative totals.
a.  Warmups Between Stages.  Warmup sorties shall not be
given prior to the first flight in stage unless 30 days have
elapsed since any syllabus flight or simulator event.
b.  Warmup Sortie Criteria.  Warmup sorties are based on the
length of break and the student's performance.  If the student
is eligible for an optional warmup and his/her performance meets
MIF, the sortie shall count as the next syllabus event; however,
if a student's overall sortie grade is marginal or
unsatisfactory, the flight is a warmup.
Warmup sortie example:  If the student completes C4001 on
Monday, Julian date 0001, and does not fly C4002 until Monday,
Julian date 0008, the break is 7 days, and the C4002 sortie is
an optional warmup sortie.
