| CHAPTER FIVE
T-6A INSTRUMENT NAVIGATION
NOTES
1. As a technique, airspeed may be reduced to 150 kts inside of
3 minutes prior to reaching the FAF for all course reversal
maneuvers, particularly if winds are a factor. Whatever technique
is used, exercise sound judgment to not exceed the specified
"remain within" distance.
2. When a teardrop maneuver is depicted (Figure 5-3 and 5-4)
and a course reversal is required, this type of procedure turn must
be executed.
Do NOT execute a procedure turn when:
1.
Radar vectors to the FAC are provided.
2.
When conducting a timed approach.
3.
A holding pattern is specified in lieu of a procedure turn (Figure 5-5) or approach can be
made from a properly aligned holding pattern (Figure 5-6).
4.
The procedure specifies no procedure turn (NoPT) (Figure 5-7).
5.
Procedure turn not authorized (the plan view does not depict a procedure turn "barb"
symbol).
