A final technique is to estimate wind direction based on the quadrant that it is coming from. The
first step in this wind analysis technique is to determine which quadrant the wind is coming from
relative to the desired course for the leg being analyzed. For example, if you were left of course
and late, the wind would be from the forward right quadrant.
