2. With respect to the use of railroads for checkpoints, the student
should adopt this attitude: "I might not see it, but if I do, I will
very likely be able to identify it with respect to the chart."

Power transmission lines are generally difficult to see from the air. To install the power line
network in a wooded area a path is cut through the forest. Airborne, this path area will look
similar to a dirt road.
Lookout towers are typically located on high terrain such as hilltops. They are difficult to locate
due to small size and coloring. Additionally, they may be "nested" in a wooded area such that
only the top third of the tower is visible. They are represented by a circled small black triangle
(refer to Figures 1-5, 1-6, 1-8, and 1-9).
