T-6A CONTACT
6.
During last half of the break turn, use bank as required (not to exceed 45), to roll out
3/4 WTD from the runway. Decelerating through 150 KIAS, retract the speed brake.
7.
Wings level on the downwind leg and below 150 KIAS, lower the landing gear handle.
Approaching 120 KIAS, lower the nose to maintain 120 KIAS and descend to pattern altitude
(power remains at 10%)..
8.
Approaching pattern altitude, increase power to ~31% to maintain 120 KIAS and level off.
9.
Complete the Before Landing Checklist prior to the abeam position.
OLF Pattern Description:
This section continues from the downwind leg after a break entry into the pattern. It will specify
the procedures to remain in the pattern, continuously flying racetrack patterns with planned
touch-and-go landings or waveoffs. Study Figure 6-4 and the following procedures.
