NOTE
Power settings are approximate and will vary with aircraft weight,
altitude, etc. Make corrections as needed. Throughout this
manual, when mandated by procedure to establish a specific power
setting (as in the Approach Turn Stall (15%), for example), setting
power within +3% is acceptable. The only exception is for
procedures that mandate a 4 to 6 percent power setting to simulate
the feathered condition.

AREA ORIENTATION
Study well the airspace where you will be operating, specifically Area 1 of Alert Area 292 and
the individual areas within the Pensacola South Military Operating Area (MOA). Understand the
geographic boundaries and the operating altitudes. For all of your contact flights, you are
expected to remain within the horizontal and vertical boundaries of your assigned area, even if
that means modifying maneuver procedures to do so. For example, if during the long and
straight level speed change maneuver, you find yourself at an area border, executing a 180 turn
to keep from crossing the area boundary is not only acceptable, but expected.
