1.7.1.5.1. STUDENT "Landing Checklist complete."
1.7.1.6. The student requests clearance to land at the abeam position.
1.7.1.6.1. STUDENT "Tower, RKT 204, abeam, full stop."
1.7.1.6.2. TOWER "RKT 204, Sherman Tower, winds 060 at 8 kts, RWY 7R, cleared to
land."
1.7.1.6.3. STUDENT "RKT 204, cleared to land, 7R."
1.7.1.7. Often the landing gear has not yet been lowered as the abeam call is being made. If this
is the case, no reference to the landing gear occurs during this transmission. A separate UHF
transmission is required once the gear is lowered and the Landing Checklist is completed.
1.7.1.7.1. STUDENT "Tower, RKT 204, three down-and-locked."
1.7.1.7.2. TOWER "RKT 204, Roger."
NOTE: Do not interrupt the Landing Checklist to make the three down-and-locked
transmission.
1.7.1.8. On climbout, after a touch and go in the VFR pattern, the student requests clearance to
turn crosswind.
1.7.1.8.1. STUDENT "Tower, RKT 204, downwind."
1.7.1.8.2. TOWER "RKT 204, right downwind approved."
NOTE: A separate Landing Checklist is required for every approach and/or landing.
1.7.1.9. During rollout on a full stop landing, it is the student's responsibility to report airspeeds
and runway feet remaining to the IP. These calls occur every 1000 feet until the aircraft has
slowed to less than 60 kts.
1.7.1.9.1. STUDENT "6 board, 80 kts."
