Speed Brake Indicator Light
A white annunciator on the CP shroud panel illuminates the letters SPD BRAKE EXTEND when
the speed brakes are not retracted.
510. SPEED BRAKE LIMITATIONS
Refer to Speed Brake Limitation, Section V, T.O. 1T-1A-1, for specific limitations of the speed
brakes.
511. LANDING GEAR SYSTEM
The landing gear system is an electrically controlled, hydraulically operated tricycle-type system.
The landing gear system consists of the following subsystems:
1.
Nosewheel steering subsystem
2.
Landing gear subsystem
3.
Brake subsystem
Nosewheel Steering Subsystem
The nosewheel steering subsystem provides aircraft directional control and shimmy dampening
during taxi, takeoff and landing. The system is mechanically controlled by rudder pedal action
and available only when the nose gear is extended.
Landing Gear Subsystem
The landing gear subsystem consists of the following components:
1.
Main landing gear
2.
Main landing gear fuselage and wing doors
3.
Nose landing gear
4.
Nose landing gear doors
5.
Landing gear control unit
6.
Nitrogen bottle
