The turn to lead collision will usually be a standard rate turn (with the exception of 5  of
turn or less, in which case the fighter may use an easy turn). Late turns to lead or turns
commenced when the contact is not on collision may require a harder turn. Commands will be
"Left/Right for lead", followed by "Steady up" when the proper lead AO is established. If all
conditions are met, the student will say "Your dot" and the instructor will broadcast "Fox-1" on
the UHF to simulate a missile launch.
Conditions for Launch
There are four possible conditions that may exist when the bogey is taken to lead. The
fighter must be prepared to adjust to each condition:
