60. STAND BY - The controller or aircrew wants the other to wait for a few seconds usually to
attend to other duties of higher priority. A verbal response of "roger" is not desired after being
told to "stand by".
61. SWITCHING - A response to an ATC request to contact a new agency on a discrete
frequency followed by reading back the frequency.
Example
CENTER:
"KATT 833, contact JACKSONVILLE CENTER
on 351.9"
SNFO/SWSO:
"KATT 833, switching 351.9"
62. TRAFFIC IN SIGHT - Used by pilots to inform a controller that previously issued traffic is
in sight. See NEGATIVE CONTACT for traffic that is not in sight.

UNABLE - Indicates inability to comply with a specific instruction, request, or clearance.
Example
SNFO/SWSO:
"APPROACH, BUCK 731, unable ILS
approach."
64. UNIFORM - Signifies to controllers that your aircraft is only equipped with a UHF radio
vice a VHF.
Example
ATC:
"BUCK 731, contact Memphis Center on 127.2.
"BUCK 731, uniform only." Or "BUCK 731,
SNFO/SWSO:
request uniform."
ATC:
"BUCK 731, contact Memphis Center on 288.15."
