Always read the computed heading/course FROM your present position TO your desired
point (Figure 3). Failure to do so will result in a reciprocal heading which is an incorrect
solution. This can be avoided by a l w a y s placing the under the

By relying exclusively on the computer, without employing logic in the solution, a reciprocal
heading may seem feasible. Such reliance will sometimes cause significant navigational errors.
