APPENDIX D
AIR FORCE T-38 TRACK INTERMEDIATES
In the second AF FORM instructional block, students can begin basic maneuvers (practice lost
Wingman, Straight Ahead Rejoin, Tactical, etc.) while en route to the Rosehill MOA. If going
to R2915A, the flight will not accomplish en route.
Area
Fence-in once area is established.
Ops checks will be done, "fencing" into the area, after lead change by the new Lead, after
"fencing out," and as required.
Rejoin airspeeds are: 120 knots for Straight Ahead Rejoins, 150 knots for Turning Rejoins,
Lead will call out airspeed if different.
Joker/Bingo is 600/400 respectively for local missions.
Wingwork will be four pulls a side with a Crossunder after the fourth pull.
Extended Trail will include at least four maneuvers with at least one leaf of a Cloverleaf.
Fence-out before leaving area.
Duke
Contact Eglin Approach or Duke Tower prior to Point Rock.
Plan formation approaches to "stop and go." Lead will prebrief Shackle/Lead changes on the
runway to reset the Wingman upwind before takeoff.
When splitting up for single-ship, work either pull sequential closed, or enter initial to split the
flight in the break. If a Crossunder is required, ensure the formation is above 300 feet AGL.
Florala
Do not come up Initial or do any AF pattern work at Florala.
Departure will be interval takeoff only. On the interval takeoff, Wing should wait for Lead to
rotate before starting the takeoff roll due to the narrow runway. If back taxi is required for
runway 04 departure Wing will lead the flight to the approach end on the downwind side.
Lead will initiate the cross-turn to align the flight for takeoff.
If Florala is landing runway 22, Lead will taxi all the way to the end of the runway after
landing to ensure sufficient room for Two to land behind him. Two will call Lead to tell him
that he is clear to turn around, e.g., "Knight Two is turning." Lead will make the traffic
advisory call on UNICOM that the flight is clear of the active.
RTB to NSE
All recoveries will be planned to a formation instrument approach.  The student will
accomplish all the communications.
Configure no later than three miles prior to the FAF.
Ask North Tower for latest wind reading approaching FAF. Direct Wing to Crossunder no
later than FAF if necessary.
Advise tower you require "full-length," demand that they acknowledge full-length available.
