Tops And Bases
The radar set can determine tops and bases of clouds. These echo tops and bases will be included
on the Radar Summary Chart whenever they are available. Echo tops and bases are indicated by
the format in Figure 2-9.

Intensity Levels
The levels of precipitation intensity determined by the Vertical Integrator Processor (VIP) range in
value from 1 to 6 and are shown graphically by a set of up to three lines enclosing concentric
shaded areas, where the middle areas have higher intensities (Figure 2-10).
