Track is the aircraft's actual flight path over the ground. Suppose an aircraft took off from
Mobile and underestimated the northerly wind. A line drawn from the departure point to the
aircraft's present location ("fix" position) shows the track, or actual flight path, of the aircraft
(see Figure 4.2-7). The aircraft's actual path over the ground is shown as a dashed line.
