Introduction to Safety Procedures
MOTIVATION
Navy safety programs have helped reduce both the frequency
and severity of accidents. Your wing and squadron safety
program requires the full commitment of everyone from the wing
commander to the civilian maintenance technician to ensure an
accident-free environment. As a student pilot, you are both the
focus of a great deal of the safety effort and the responsible party
for carrying out that effort. Your T-45C NATOPS Manual not only
guides your study time more efficiently, but also plays an
important role in the overall safety program. Remember that
flying is not inherently dangerous, but like the sea, it is unfor-
giving. The flight safety rules that are presented here are
designed for only one purpose--to keep you alive!
