1.
Solve for valid tracking solution using LAC mode
a.
Approaching 1,000 ft, target's wingspan should begin to fill inner area
of aiming reticle
b.
Place pipper over target and hold for at least 1 sec (gunsight settling
time) prior to firing
c.
After satisfying settling time, pipper compensates for lead required
due to g and time of flight
NOTE: Pilot reaction time is not compensated for. Therefore,
smooth g application is paramount for valid tracking solution.
d.
Use power and speed brakes, as necessary, to maintain tracking
solution
