(a) Arrows with barbs or flags indicate
area or line movement
(b) Arrows with numbers indicate direction
and speed of individual cell within a
line or area
NOTE: Arrows are oriented to eight
cardinal points of compass.
(4) Contractions and letters depict the type of
surface weather associated with the
echoes
NOTE: A "+" (plus) symbol indicates the
intensity of the echoes are increasing. A
"-" (minus) symbol indicates decreasing
intensity.
(5) Dashed line box indicates a forecast
weather watch (WW) area
(a) Valid time and ID number of WW
displayed alongside
(b) "WT" denotes tornado watch, "WS"
indicates severe thunderstorms
NOTE: Only forecast information is on
the RADAR Summary Chart; all other
information is observed.
