Problem: high closure rate due to excessive power/airspeed
Correction:
(1) Reduce power
(2) If necessary, use speed brakes
(3) Turn away from lead to ensure adequate lateral
separation
(4) Keep lead in sight at all times
(5) Do not pass directly above or below lead

Problem: too much lateral separation in join-up phase due to
excessive heading differential from trail position to the bearing
line
Correction: use minimal AOB adjustments to establish and
control heading differential
