This NATOPS manual, however
impressive it may seem due to its size,
is not the only NATOPS you will use in
the fleet for a given aircraft
(1) For each tactical aircraft, there is
at least one classified NATOPS
manual, as large as or larger,
dealing with the various weapons
systems, radars, encrypted
communications, etc., for that
aircraft

The NATOPS manual is the pilot's
bible for that aircraft type and model
(1) It is the final word on how to
operate the aircraft; further,
compliance with NATOPS
procedures is mandatory, not
voluntary
(2) Squadron commander may
impose more restrictive
procedures
