(1) The indicators require 28 VDC
essential services bus power for
indicator operation and 5 VAC
nonessential bus power for indica-
tor lighting
(2) Front cockpit AOA indicator
(a) Provides signals to illuminate
external approach lights
(b) Provides signal to both
cockpit approach indexers
(c) Provides signal to stall
warning device
NOTE: Rear cockpit indicator
provides AOA display only.

Location: top of each glare shield
above AOA gauge

Function: provides second visual AOA
display and warning when arresting
hook is not extended during carrier
operations
(1) Indexer assembly contains three
independent indexer lights
(a) Upper chevron green light
indicates slow airspeed or
high AOA
(b) Center donut amber light
indicates on-speed or correct
AOA
(c) Lower chevron red light
indicates fast airspeed or low
