a.
No smoking, eating, or drinking in simulator or
on simulator platform
b.
Time must be specifically scheduled through
Squadron Scheduling Officer for syllabus
events, or Simulator Schedules desk for
unsupervised practice periods; do not go back
to IFTs and hop in without coordinating with
Schedules Desk!
B.
Simulator safety
1.
Spatial disorientation (OFT)
a.
Freeze mode should be used only when in level
flight attitude to prevent severe disorientation
b.
Darkness: low-light condition presents
possibility of falling
c.
Observers should be extremely careful when on
platform during flights: protective railings are
lowered and cannot prevent falls
d.
Effects of flight can leave pilot/observer spa-
tially disoriented for several hours following
simulator event
NOTE: If you experience spatial disorientation,
sit down for a few minutes, get reoriented, and
avoid driving for at least 10 minutes.
