Syllabus Notes
a. One flight in this block shall be dedicated to radar
approaches (PAR/ASR) and shall be annotated in the comments
section of the ATF. This flight shall consist of a minimum of
five approaches concentrating on radar approaches (PAR/ASR),
including vectors for one straight-in non-precision approach
(VOR, TAC, NDB, GPS).
b. All other events in this block will have a minimum of
three approaches per event and shall include at least two
procedure turn approaches.
c. Holding should be accomplished and graded on at least
two events.
d. All events shall include a missed approach (or SSE
missed approach).

Autopilot demonstration.

Discuss Items

Observer duties/visual clearing, spatial disorientation,
local operations, radar approach procedures, radar vectors,
NAVAID characteristics (VOR, TAC, NDB), pitot static system,
windshear/windshear escape, and autopilot.
