TACTICAL FORMATION, OUT-OF-CONTROL FLIGHT AND AIR COMBAT
MANEUVERING
OBJECTIVE:
1. Tactical Formation. To provide the IUT with instruction in
Tactical Formation as a precursor to Air Combat Maneuvering in
preparation for instructing these stages. The module will
provide the IUT with phase goals and training techniques and
rules of engagement for instructing the stages.
NOTE:
Tactical Formation includes flight procedures lessons
(TFFP-01 through 04X) and TACF-01 through TACF-06X.
2. Out-of-Control Flight. To provide the IUT with training in
Out-of-Control Flight instructional techniques. The module will
provide the IUT with phase goals and training techniques for
instructing this stage.
OCF consists of OCFFP-02 and OCFFP-03X; and OCF events (OCF-03S
and 04X).
NOTE:
OCFFP-02 is a refresher of lesson materials covered in
OCFFP-01. OCFFP-01 may be used for this lesson.
OCFFP-03x is the same examination as OCFFP-02X used in the
Regular IUT curriculum (CNATRAINST 1542.109B).
3. Air Combat Maneuvering. To introduce the IUT to the air
combat maneuvering environment with emphasis on stall/out-of-
control flight avoidance techniques, combat spread formation,
lookout doctrine, and offensive and defensive maneuvering during
1 V 1 and 2 V 1 engagements.
Air Combat Maneuvering (ACM-01 through ACM-15X):
NOTE 1:
IUT's shall be expected to lead return flight to base
during ACM stage at IP's discretion.
NOTE 2:
OCF-04X must be completed prior to ACM-01.
