MODULE 03
FAMILIARIZATION
OBJECTIVE: Familiarize the student with normal and emergency
procedures in the aircraft with emphasis on system operations,
flight characteristics, and landing techniques.
Includes: Cockpit Orientation (CO-04 and CO-05), Course Rules
(CR-02 and CR-03X), Familiarization Flight Procedures (FAMFP-01
through FAMFP-03X), Emergency Procedures simulator (EP-05S),
Familiarization simulators and flights (FAM-01S through FAM-15),
Out-of-Control Flight Procedures (OCFFP-01 and OCFFP-02X), Out-
of-Control Flight simulator and flight (OCF-01S and OCF-02), and
NATOPS review and examinations (NATOPS-01 through NATOPS-03X).
NOTE 1:
CR-02 and CR-03X should be completed prior to FAMFP-01.
NOTE 2:
EP-05S may be scheduled anytime after FAM-03S but prior
to FAM-14X.
NOTE 3:
FAM-05 may not be scheduled prior to completing BI-12X.
NOTE 4:
Open-book and closed-book NATOPS examinations, OCF-01S,
and OCF-02 shall be completed prior to FAM-14X. NATOPS
instructions and examinations are administered by the
squadron and are paper/pencil examinations.
NOTE 5:
Student must have flown 1 Straight-in, 3 Abeam, and 2
Overhead PAs prior to completion of FAM-12.
NOTE 6:
Practice PAs will be flown to a full stop only when
dual.
NOTE 7:
A minimum of 4 breaks must be flown prior to FAM-14X.
NOTE 8:
FAM-14X shall be flown with visual reference to the
ground.
NOTE 9:
FAM-15 cannot be shotgunned.
NOTE 10:
Jacket review required prior to check flight.
