8. Air-to-Ground Weapons. After this stage, the IUT will
demonstrate competency to instruct SNAs in the conduct of air-to-
ground weapons delivery, during visual daylight conditions,
during which the student will fly prescribed target patterns.
The IUT will instruct the SNA in determining relationships of
dive angle, airspeed, and release altitude to weapon trajectory
armament system.
9. Tactical Formation. After this stage, the IUT will
demonstrate competency to instruct SNAs in controlling the
aircraft in tactical formation flights under visual conditions.
10. Air-to-Air Gunnery. (NOT APPLICABLE TO THIS CURRICULUM)
After this stage, the IUT will demonstrate competency to instruct
SNAs in maneuvering the aircraft through all parameters of the
air-to-air gunnery pattern.
11. Air Combat Maneuvering. After this stage, the IUT will
demonstrate competency to instruct SNAs in flying ACM maneuvers
performing offensively and defensively in the multi-plane
tactical environment, while maintaining flight integrity in
accordance with the NATOPS manual, tactical doctrine, and command
directives.
12. Carrier Qualification. After this stage, the IUT will
demonstrate competency to act as a lead/safety pilot for
shipboard operations and to instruct SNAs in field carrier
landing practice.
13. Out-of-Control Flight. After this stage, the IUT will
demonstrate competency to instruct SNAs in recognizing the
various phases of out-of-control flight, the indications of OCF
utilizing instrument references, and applying the proper recovery
controls for an uncontrolled flight situation.
