ACADEMICS AND NATOPS QUALIFICATION STAGES
OBJECTIVE: To provide the IUT with Aviation Instructor
Indoctrination, Engineering, T-45A specific Aerodynamics,
Instrument Navigation, local area Course Rules, Navy Aircrew
Common Ejection Seat (SEAT-01), Aircrew Coordination Training,
Cockpit Orientation, Emergency Flight Procedures, Instrument
Flight Procedures, Familiarization Flight Procedures, Formation
Flight Procedures and a complete NATOPS qualification
simulator/flight syllabus, and examinations, concluding with a
Standardization check flight.
NOTE 1:
Academic instruction provided: Aviation Student
Indoctrination (ASI-01 through ASI-06), Engineering
(ENG-01 through 28X), Aerodynamics (AERO-01 through
06), Instrument Navigation (INAV-01 through 02).
NOTE 2:
Flight Support lesson provided: Course Rules (CR-01
through 03X), NACES lecture (SEAT-01), Aircrew
Coordination Training (ACT-01), Cockpit Orientation
(CO-01), Emergency Flight Procedures (EMFP-01 through
08X), Instrument Rating Flight Procedures (IRFP-01
through 03X), Basic Instruments (BIFP-01 through 06X),
Radio Instruments (RIFP-01 through 05X),
Familiarization (FAMFP-01 through 03X), Formation
Flight Procedures (FFP-01 through 08X), Night
Familiarization Flight Procedures (NFAMFP-01 through
03X), Night Formation Flight Procedures (NFFP-01 and
02X), and NATOPS examinations (NATOPS-01X and 02X).
NOTE 3:
Simulators and flight training provided:
NATOPS (NA-01S
through 14X)
NOTE 4:
ASI can be completed in any sequence.
ASI-06 must be
completed prior to ENG-03.
NOTE 5:
IRFP-01 through IRFP-03X Instrument Rating examination
(open book) can be used to satisfy annual requirements,
if within prescribed time established by OPNAVINST
3710.7Q.
NOTE 6:
NATOPS Open and Closed Book examinations must be
completed prior to NA-14X.
