ACADEMICS AND NATOPS QUALIFICATION STAGES
OBJECTIVE: To provide the JREF with jet refresher training and
a NATOPS qualification. The Training Integration System (TIS)
is used to schedule the JREF through required training.
Training will include an Engineering review, Aerodynamics
review, NACES (ejection seat) training, Cockpit Orientation,
Emergency Flight Procedures, Instrument Rating Flight
Procedures, Night Familiarization Flight Procedures, Formation
Flight Procedures, and a NATOPS qualification simulator/flight
syllabus.
NOTE 1:
Academic instruction provided: Aviation Student
Indoctrination (ASI-01 and 02), Engineering (ENG-01
through ENG-28X), and Aerodynamics (AERO-01 and 02).
NOTE 2:
Flight Support lessons provided: NACES (SEAT-01),
Emergency Flight Procedures (EMFP-01 through 08X),
Instrument Rating Flight Procedures (IRFP-01 through
03X), Formation Flight Procedures (FFP-01 through 04),
Night Familiarization Flight Procedures (NFAMFP-01
through NFAMFP-02), and the NATOPS Examinations
(NATOPS-01X & 02X).
NOTE 3:
Simulators and flight training provided:
NATOPS (NA-
01S through 15X)
NOTE 4:
ASI can be completed in any sequence.
ASI-02 must be
completed prior to ENG-03.
NOTE 5:
IRFP-01 through IRFP-03X Instrument Rating examination
(open book) can be used to satisfy annual
requirements, if within prescribed time established by
OPNAVINST 3710.7R.
NOTE 6:
NATOPS Open & Closed Book examinations must be
completed prior to NA-15X. These exams are
paper/pencil examinations, administered at the
training air wing/squadron.
NOTE 7:
Academic and flight support examinations are normally
taken in the Learning Center. CAI-administered
examinations may require materials such as examination
booklets, CD ROM and NATOPS. Check the examination
booklet to ensure that all required materials are
