Figure 2-7 Updating Chart (CHUM)
Figure 2-7 shows a section from a CHUM supplement. In this example, changes to vertical
obstructions are shown with AGL/MSL altitudes and coordinates. In blue, plot all data within 10
NM of your course line. Plot CHUM annotations at the designated coordinates. Figure 2-8 is an
example of correct CHUM chart annotations, and remember CHUM annotations are the only
additional marks allowed inside the turnpoint or target symbols.

ANNOTATE CONFLICTING ROUTES
Minimizing the risk of mid-air collision is the priority of the route conflict annotations. One
source for this information is the current AP-1B Military Training Route Chart. As a minimum,
annotate all low altitude routes flown by VT-10/VT-4 aircraft (T-1/T-39 included). Refer to the
route conflict charts located in the Griffith Hall's chart room for non-AP-1B routes.
To annotate a route that shares a point in common with your low-level route, draw a dashed blue
arrow outside the turnpoint circle in the direction of the conflicting route. For conflicting routes
that only cross your low-level track, draw a dashed blue arrow indicating the direction of the
