T-2C FLIGHT PROCEDURES
1.3. FINAL CHECKS
1.3.1. Before the PC conducts the final checks, both crewmembers arm their seats by removing
pins.
1.3.1.1. IP "Pulling pins."
1.3.1.2. STUDENT "Roger, pulling pins."
1.3.2. Remove the seat and canopy pins and stow them securely in the map case.
1.3.2.1. STUDENT "Four pins pulled and stowed."
1.3.2.2. IP "Roger, four pins pulled and stowed."
1.3.3. The IP signals the PC to remove the chocks and taxi the aircraft forward a few feet for a
brake check. At this time final checks are conducted, during which, both crewmembers remain
"hands out."
NOTE: This is an ideal time to review the Instrument Checklist since most items can be checked
visually.
1.3.4. Once final checks are complete, the aircraft is ready for taxi.
1.4. TAXI
1.4.1. When the IP starts to taxi, the student switches the TACAN to transmit and receive and
notifies Base.
1.4.1.1. STUDENT "Base, RKT 204 is outbound."
1.4.2. It is not necessary to wait for a response from Base before switching to Ground and
requesting taxi.
1.4.2.1. STUDENT "Ground, RKT 204, taxi with information bravo."
1.4.2.2. GROUND "RKT 204, taxi to RWY 7, altimeter 3002."
1.4.2.3. STUDENT "RKT 204, 3002."
1.4.3. After verifying the turn needle and ball are working during taxi and all other items on the
Instrument Checklist are operating properly (i.e. TACAN and BDHI), report Poststart and
Instrument Checklists complete.
1.4.3.1. STUDENT "Poststart and Instrument Checklists complete."
1.4.3.2. STUDENT "Taxi report: PT 5 is 62, squawk is 4246, altimeter is 3002, showing 30
feet in standby."
1.4.3.3. IP "Roger, squawking 4246, altimeter 3002, showing 20 feet in standby."
1.4.3.4. STUDENT "Departure brief: Right turn to 150, climb and maintain 3000 feet, expect
FL220 10 minutes after departure."
1.4.4. After the taxi report, the student initiates the Takeoff Checklist by challenging the IP on
each item in the checklist. The IP "replies" to each student "challenge." If the student notes no
