STUDENT GUIDE FOR T-1A AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS
CHAPTER TEN
2.
Course Select Knob - The course select knob, placarded CRS, is the inner portion of the
knob. Rotate the knob to change the selected active or second course shown by the course
arrow/display on the EHSI. Clockwise rotation increases the selected course angle.
3.
Course Direct-To Switch - The course direct-to switch, placarded PUSH DIRECT, is a
momentary pushbutton switch in the center of the knob. Press the switch to zero the course
deviation, and establish a course directly to the selected active or second nav sensor.
Heading Knob
The heading knob is a three-part knob that consists of a heading sync switch, a heading select
knob, and a bearing pointer knob.
1.
Heading Sync Switch - The heading sync switch, placarded HDG SYNC, is the center
portion of the knob. Pressing the heading sync switch synchronizes the heading bug to the
current aircraft heading on the EHSI. The heading bug rotates to the heading shown under the
lubber line on the EHSI.
2.
Heading Select Knob - The heading select knob, placarded HDG, is the inner portion of
the knob. Rotating the heading knob changes the selected heading shown by the heading bug on
the EHSI.
3.
Bearing Pointer Source Knob - The bearing pointer source knob is the outer portion of
the knob. Rotating the knob selects the nav sensor that drives the EHSI bearing pointer. The
available selections are OFF, VOR1, VOR2, FMS, ADF, and TCN.
1007. MULTIFUNCTION DISPLAY
The MFD is a high performance electronic seven by six inch display. General displays on the
MFD are checklist, map, radar, Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), nav pictorials,
FMS, maintenance, diagnostic, and composite mode pages.
1008. AIR DATA SYSTEM
The ADS provides digital air data parameters to the EFDs and to other systems that require air
data for operation. The ADS receives total and static air pressure from the pitot static system and
temperature measurement from a dual element air temperature probe. The ADS consists of:
1.
Two ADCs
2.
Two altimeters
3.
Two MSI
4.
Two Resolution Advisory/Vertical Speed Indicators (RA/VSI)
AVIONICS
