SNFO/SWSO VOICE COMMUNICATIONS
CHAPTER TWO
NOTE
It is not necessary to say "...for the break" since coming into
course rules implies the break.
TOWER:
"BUCK 710, report the numbers runway 7 Right."
SNFO/SWSO:
"BUCK 710."
NOTE
It is important to report an accurate position in relation to the initial
point to assist other traffic following you.
Example: 1 mile west of PT GOLF:
SNFO/SWSO:
"BUCK 710, 1 mile west of PT GOLF."
Sometimes, another aircraft communicating with the Tower interferes with your opportunity to
call "PT GOLF". When this occurs, continue flying the course rules. When the frequency is
clear, report your current position:
SNFO/SWSO:
"BUCK 711, inside PT GOLF" or "BUCK 711, 4
miles".
Normally, Tower instructs you to call when over the numbers, which you should acknowledge
with your call sign:
TOWER:
"BUCK 710, report the numbers."
SNFO/SWSO:
"BUCK 710"
Proceed inbound to the field. The next call is at the numbers (the approach end of the duty
runway):
SNFO/SWSO:
"BUCK 710, numbers."
TOWER:
"BUCK 710, right break approved."
SNFO/SWSO:
"BUCK 710."
NOTE
Do not reply "BUCK 710 right break approved."
Sometimes, TOWER will clear you for the break between the initial call and prior to reaching
the numbers:
SNFO/SWSO:
"Sherman Tower, BUCK 710, PT GOLF."
TOWER:
"BUCK 710, report the numbers."
