CHAPTER FOUR
SNFO/SWSO VOICE COMMUNICATIONS
Figure 4-6 Pilot to Metro and Weather Radar Facilities
You must get permission from ATC before switching frequencies, unless your aircraft has
several radios. The radio call for PMSV is "METRO " (e.g., "Eglin METRO"). When
requesting terminal weather, advise the forecaster/observer of your destination and a time of
arrival.
Example
SNFO/SWSO:
"Eglin METRO, BUCK 733."
PMSV:
"BUCK 733, Eglin METRO, go ahead."
SNFO/SWSO:
"BUCK 733, request current weather at VQQ and
a one hour forecast."
PMSV:
"BUCK 733, roger, standby."
PMSV:
"BUCK 733, Eglin METRO."
SNFO/SWSO:
"BUCK 733, go ahead."
PMSV:
"Cecil weather is presently VFR, 5000 scattered,
10,000 broken, visibility 5 miles in haze, surface
winds 010/12, altimeter 29.98. Forecast should
remain the same."
SNFO/SWSO:
"BUCK 733, roger, thanks, switching."
