Color Coding
Weather Depiction Charts are sometimes color-coded by personnel in USN/USMC weather
offices. IFR areas are colored RED and MVFR areas are colored BLUE. This color-coding
gives the pilot a quick indication of areas of observed IFR weather and MVFR weather.
