Definition—at initial pass, fighter and bandit turn in
same direction (both turn right or both turn left)
2.
Advantages 6.7.3.5.6
a.
Allows fighter to maintain energy
b.
Provides ability to exploit superior weapon
system capable of forward quarter kills
c.
Generally allows mistakes to be corrected
d.
Provides easier opportunity to bug out than
one-circle fight
3.
Disadvantages
a.
Usually higher g profile to fly—keeping sight
under high g is more difficult than lower g profile
b.
Greater distance across circle further
complicating visual tracking
c.
Difficult to assess bandit’s energy state
4.
Execution
a.
At pass
(1) Adjust lift vector taking out any lateral/
vertical separation and early turn if possible
(maintain 500-ft bubble)
(2) Turn to cross the bandit’s tail nose-low
(3) Maintain cornering speed, maximum g, and
approximately 20 degrees nose-low
b.
Look aft in direction of turn, to acquire bandit
NOTE: The bandit should first appear a quarter
turn across the circle, and become progressive-
ly easier to see as the turn continues.
